While the primary focus is within Flight Operations, this role also supports cross-functional areas including Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Production. This position involves gathering, analyzing, and translating complex technical and operational information into user-friendly materials that align with both company standards and industry requirements. The Technical Writer ensures that all documentation effectively supports safe, efficient, and compliant operations while remaining accessible to a wide range of stakeholders. Duties/ Responsibilities:Create, review, and maintain technical documentation such as user manuals, reports, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and other related materials. Translate complex engineering and technical concepts into clear, concise, and understandable documentations for a variety of audiences.Conduct interviews, observations, and workflow reviews to accurately capture real-world processesCollect and analyze technical and operational information from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across Flight Operations, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and ProductionMaintain content directory for documentation, ensuring version control, accessibility, and regular updates to keep documentation accurate and currentRegularly review and update documentation to reflect operational changes and lessons learnedObserve flight operations activities to validate accuracy and usability of proceduresIdentify gaps, inconsistencies, or inefficiencies in existing documentation and workflows and update accordinglyEnsure that written materials are grammatically correct and maintain a consistent tone or voiceIdentify and implement best practices to streamline documentation processes and improve efficiency and usabilitySeek feedback from flight operations personnel and stakeholders to refine and improve documentation qualityPerform other duties as requiredBasic Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, or related field2-5 years of technical writing experience, preferably in aviation, UAS, engineering, or operational environmentExcellent written, editing, and oral communication skills (example writing will be requested from candidates)Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and independently (self-starter)Ability and willingness to work under tight deadlines and support pursuits concurrentlyBasic understanding of engineering, quality assurance, and flight operation conceptsAbility to synthesize complex technical concepts into clear, actionable contentPreferred Qualifications:Excellent computer skills and proficiency using MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, Outlook) and Adobe AcrobatExperience with Unmanned Flight Operations and/or AviationAbility to obtain or currently possess and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)Physical RequirementsAbility to sit for extended periods while working on documentationgroup id: 91125419
