OPS - Maintenance Mechanic - 6062

Job Purpose Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment. Location: Union City, CA Shift: 3rd Union: Yes Job Responsibilities Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments. Repair or replace defective parts; install special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricate and clean parts. Start devices to test performance. Set up and operate drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Initiate purchase requests for parts and machines. Repair electrical equipment. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Minimum 2 years of related experience Strong customer service and telephone communication skills. Upbeat and friendly personality. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to operate various office machines and computers. Bilingual preferred, but not required (ability to speak Spanish). Proficient in computer applications and software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point). Candidates should have their own tools. Pay rate is $40.33/hr. Work Experience 5-10 years of related job experience. Ability to work quickly and efficiently. Must be highly motivated, flexible and deadline driven. Strong problem‑solving and attention to detail skills are required.
