Job Full Description Pay: $18.00 per hour Job description: Switchboard Operator (1-4 month assignment, could turn permanent) Location: Harker Heights, TX Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Duration: Temporary Assignment (1-4 Months), possible temp-to-hire Position Summary Express Employment Professionals is hiring on behalf of a local bank seeking a professional and customer-focused Switchboard Operator to serve as the first point of contact for callers and visitors. This role is responsible for operating the telephone switchboard, directing calls efficiently, supporting employees with conference call setup, and performing general administrative duties. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities Operate the company switchboard and route incoming calls accurately and professionally. Answer all incoming calls promptly, courteously, and with a customer-service mindset. Establish and facilitate conference calls for employees. Maintain and update employee profiles and telephone system records. Perform general clerical and administrative tasks as assigned. Assist with special projects and other duties as needed. Represent the organization professionally while building positive relationships with customers, visitors, and employees. Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Strong verbal communication and customer service skills. Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in a fast-paced environment. Preferred: Previous experience operating a multi-line telephone system or switchboard. Experience in a receptionist, front desk, or administrative support role. Technical Skills Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Ability to learn and utilize various software applications and communication systems. Physical Requirements Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds occasionally. Ability to sit, stand, and walk frequently throughout the workday. Ability to bend, stoop, reach overhead, and perform light office-related physical activities as needed.
