The Registered Dental Hygienist plays a vital role in promoting oral health and preventing dental diseases across various clinical environments such as educational institutions, community health clinics, private practices, and specialty dental clinics. This position demands both independent practice and collaborative work within multidisciplinary dental teams, catering to a range of patient volumes. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate oral health status
- Provide oral hygiene instruction tailored to individual patient needs
- Perform professional dental cleanings to remove plaque and tartar
- Prepare and process dental radiographs accurately
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records
- Implement strict infection control and sterilization procedures
- Deliver periodontal therapy to manage gum health
- Apply dental sealants as a preventive treatment
- Educate patients on oral health maintenance and disease prevention
- Collaborate effectively with dentists and dental assistants
Required Qualifications
- Current registration as a Dental Hygienist with a recognized licensing body
- Proven experience working in diverse clinical settings
- Ability to operate independently and within a dental team
- Competency in oral health assessment and preventive dental care
- Knowledge of infection control standards and protocols
