Specialty Sonographer 3 Job Responsibilities The Specialty Sonographer 3 serves as a clinical expert who provides high - level specialty ultrasound services, leads quality and performance - improvement initiatives, and supports departmental operations. This role exercises independent judgment, mentors staff, and acts as a key resource for complex imaging and workflow needs. Identifies and manages clinical or emergent problems that may impact exam outcomes, ensuring patient safety and optimal diagnostic quality. Manages high - level disinfection processes, including maintaining glutaraldehyde or hydrogen peroxide systems and associated logs. Ensures proper cleaning, maintenance, and safe operation of all ultrasound equipment; coordinates repairs, replacements, and inventory needs with Biomedical Engineering, IT, and vendors. Leads performance - improvement initiatives, quality - assurance activities, and compliance - related documentation. Participated in some healthcare related community engagement event. May perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited school/program of diagnostic medical, setting. Sonography or five years of specialized training in a hospital/healthcare. Certification: American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS); Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS); or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer (RCS) Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required upon start.
