Basilico is a fine dining Italian restaurant dedicated to authentic, seasonal cuisine crafted with precision and passion. We're known for pasta dishes, salalds, wood-fired dishes with comitment to using the finest ingredients to deliver an exceptional dining experience. We're looking for a skilled Line Cook / Prep Cook to join our kitchen team.
The Role
As a Line Cook, you'll work alongside our culinary team to prepare and execute dishes to the highest standard, night after night. This is an opportunity to sharpen your craft in a fast-paced, detail-oriented kitchen that takes Italian cuisine seriously.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a line cook in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment preferred
- Knowledge of Italian cuisine and cooking techniques a strong plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during high-volume service
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Team-oriented with clear communication skills
- Food Handler's Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portioning, and presentation standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient station during service
- Execute mise en place ahead of service to ensure smooth operations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain consistent food quality and timing
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health code standards
- Monitor inventory and communicate ingredient needs to kitchen leadership
- Handle fresh pasta, sauces, proteins, and seasonal ingredients with care and technique
- Assist with new menu development and seasonal specials as needed
