JOB TITLE: NDI Technician



LOCATION: Kinston, NC



PAY RATE: $58/hour

Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

• Uses analysis techniques to evaluate the properties of materials, components, or systems without causing damage.

• Utilizes non-destructive inspection methods including liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, thermography, shearography, eddy current, ultrasonic, and radiography.

• Verifies parts and processes comply with customer engineering requirements.

• Sets up and standardizes NDI equipment and processes parts for inspection.

• Interprets and evaluates inspection results for acceptance or rejection and documents results.

• Establishes techniques from approved general procedures or work instructions for final approval.

• Conducts system performance checks in accordance with applicable process standards.

• Provides guidance and supervision to trainees in NDI methods.

• Performs audit surveillance on non-destructive inspection processes and initiates and documents non-conformances.

• Interprets codes, standards, and contractual documents that control NDT methods.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

• Associate degree in a related discipline and 3 years of related experience.

• Ultrasonic Testing Level 1 Certification and 40 hours of UT Level 1 formal training.

• Ultrasonic Testing Level 2 Certification and 40 hours of UT Level 2 formal training.

• 800+ Ultrasonic Testing OJT hours documented proof.

• NAS 410 certification.

• Experience with UT methods including phased array, pulse-echo, shear wave, and through transmission.

• Experience setting up and standardizing NDI equipment.

• Experience interpreting and evaluating inspection results for acceptance or rejection.

• Experience performing audit surveillance and documenting non-conformances.
