Join us.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Structural Engineer with experience in hyperscale and colocation data center facility design to join our growing Data Center practice. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in large scale concrete and steel structures, a proven track record delivering fast paced technology / industrial projects, and a passion for advancing low carbon and resilient design strategies.This position offers the flexibility of a remote work schedule and can be based from a variety of locations in the US where AECOM has an office.Although the position is primarily remote periodic travel may be required for client meetings, key project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, or other business‑critical activities. Travel is expected to be occasional and scheduled in advance.AECOM is a leader in the global data center consulting industry with robust teams in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with our teams around the world on high-profile, fast-paced data center projects for global clients. This is a hands-on, client-facing role with an opportunity for upward career mobility. Key Responsibilities:Perform structural design and analysis for multiple data center buildings, including hyperscale and colocation type facilities.Develop design documentation for tilt-up concrete panels, precast structures, steel framing systems, and deep and shallow foundations.Coordinate design deliverables with architectural, civil, MEP, and construction teams to ensure alignment with project objectives and client standards.Prepare construction documents, specifications, and calculations, ensuring quality, code compliance, and technical excellence.Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.Engage with clients, contractors, and review authorities to address technical queries and design clarifications.Support business development, proposal writing, and conceptual structural design for new pursuits.Travel, as needed, for project-related activities such as client meetings and site visits.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education in Structural or Civil Engineering.Licensed U.S. Professional Engineer (PE or SE).5+ years of professional experience in building structures design and analysis.Experience specifically in data center, mission critical, or large scale logistics/industrial facilities.Experience with BIM ACC (Revit), ETABS, RISA, RAM, SAP2000, Safe, etc.Experience with precast concrete systems, steel design, seismic design, and foundation systems.Demonstrated experience with low embodied carbon materials and sustainable structural design approaches.Preferred Qualifications:3+ years of experience with data center facilities and familiarity with data center specific design standards and structural resiliency requirements.LEED, Envision, or active leader in SE 2050 implementation.Expertise in low embodied carbon materials, sustainable structural systems, and emerging industry best practicesExcellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary and geographically diverse teams.Ability to interpret and apply national and local building codes.Additional InformationRelocation is not available for this roleSponsorship is not available for this roleTHIS POSTING IS FOR A CURRENT VACANCY, AND AECOM INTENDS TO FILL THIS POSITION BY NOVEMBER 9, 2026.At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
