Job Summary:

\n

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatrician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive medical care to children from infancy through adolescence (19 years old), addressing a wide range of health issues. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with families and healthcare staff. Patient population consist of 80% Medicaid, 19% Commercial and 1% Private Pay.

Practice Setting:

\n

\n
• 100 % Outpatient
\n
• No administrative duties
\n
• 5 exam rooms
\n
• Pediatrician only sees patients. All billing and paperwork are done by staff.
\n
• General pediatric clinic coverage - sick visits, developmental checkups, medication management
\n
• Traditional paper charting. No complicated EMR to learn.
\n
• All xray and lab work completed at St Vincets/UAB (in-house CLIA Waiver Testing: Covid, Strep, Flu, HCG)
\n
• All admissions referred to Childrens Hospital of Alabama
\n

Schedule:

\n

\n
• Average of 30 patients per day
\n
• Call Rotation- (Rare) night and weekend call\n

  • Right now is about 3 calls a month

  • Goes to Office Manager First
  \n
\n
• Clinic hours Monday – Thursday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm
\n
• Clinic hours Friday – 7:30 am – 12 noon
\n
• Closed 12:00 noon – 1 pm for lunch Monday- Thursday
\n

Compensation & Benefits:

• Annual base salary for the first year
\n
• 3 weeks PTO plus 6 holidays
\n
• 401(k) with a 3% match
\n
• Profit Sharing after 2 Years

Duties

\n

\n
• Conduct thorough physical examinations and assessments of pediatric patients.
\n
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses.
\n
• Provide preventive care through immunizations and health education for children and their families.
\n
• Complete sports, camp and school physicals and Pre-op physicals
\n
• Collaborate with specialists in areas such as pulmonary, dermatology, etc. as needed.
\n
• Interpret diagnostic tests to inform treatment plans.
\n
• Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with medical office protocols.
\n
• Educate patients and families on health management, nutrition, and wellness strategies.
\n

Requirements

\n

\n
• Medical degree (MD or DO) with a specialization in Pediatrics.
\n
• Board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics.
\n
• Experience in acute care settings is preferrable.
\n
• Proficient in the Spanish language preferred but not required.  
\n
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical office environment.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with children and their families.
\n
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with pediatric healthcare advancements.
