PASTRY COOK

Baker/Pastry Cook We are seeking a skilled and reliable Baker/Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with laminated doughs, European-style pastries, and traditional Italian desserts, along with a strong foundation in scratch bread production. This is an hourly position requiring precision, consistency, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Educational Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Culinary or baking/pastry arts certification preferred, but not required Food safety certification (ServSafe or equivalent) required or must be obtained within a specified period after hire Key Duties Prepare laminated doughs (croissants, danishes, puff pastries) and other European-style pastries Prepare traditional Italian desserts (e.g., cannoli, tiramisu, biscotti, panna cotta) Produce breads from scratch, including mixing, proofing, shaping, and baking Follow standardized recipes to ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation across all products Assist with monitoring ingredient inventory and communicating restocking needs Support kitchen team with seasonal or specialty item production as needed Other Responsibilities Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation at all times Adhere to all food safety and handling standards Properly label, date, and store products and ingredients Operate and maintain kitchen equipment (mixers, proofers, ovens, sheeters) Requirements 1+ years of experience as a baker or pastry cook in a high-volume environment preferred Experience working with laminated doughs and European-style pastries Experience preparing traditional Italian desserts Experience in bread production from scratch Ability to follow recipes and produce consistent results day to day Strong organizational skills and commitment to food safety standards Comfortable working early morning hours and in a fast-paced production environment Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 75 lbs.
