24-Hour Shift Structure Hospital-Based Laborist Program Dedicated In-House Scope

Are you a Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN Physician seeking a high-yield laborist assignment on the Jersey Shore? A prominent 592-bed regional medical center in Ocean County is seeking a skilled laborist for a 17-week locum contract running from November 9, 2026, through March 7, 2027. Featuring structured 24-hour in-house shifts, a collaborative care model with employed physicians, Epic EMR, and zero out-of-house call obligations, this role offers an outstanding clinical engagement.

Step into a busy 24/7 laborist program, providing immediate inpatient obstetrical management and emergency coverage across Labor & Delivery and hospital floor units.

• Clinical Scope: Deliver comprehensive hospital-based obstetrical and gynecological care, including:

  • Assuming immediate management of obstetrical patients and performing deliveries (4 to 10 deliveries per day)

  • Managing vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, inductions, and emergent OB procedures

  • Conducting initial L&D patient evaluations and providing OB/GYN specialty consultations across the Emergency Department and hospital floors

  • Supporting the development and implementation of department-approved clinical management protocols

  • Documenting care and entering orders via Epic EMR

• The Schedule & Shift Structure: 24-hour in-house shifts (7:00 AM 7:00 AM ; 1 physician onsite providing restricted 24-hour coverage).

• Practice Setting & Support: In-house hospitalist model collaborating directly alongside employed OB/GYN physicians.

• Assignment Duration: 17-week contract (November 9, 2026 March 7, 2027).

All candidate submissions must demonstrate active state licensure or IMLC qualification and full credentialing readiness.

• Degree & Board Status: MD or DO; Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in OB/GYN.

• Licensure: Active, unencumbered New Jersey State Medical License or IMLC eligibility.

• Clinical Competency: Verified proficiency in high-volume labor management, C-sections, and acute OB/GYN emergencies.
