Base Pay $18.00 / Hour Employee Type Full Time Required Degree NONE Safely transport residents to medical appointments, shopping trips, social outings, and other scheduled destinations. Assist residents with getting in and out of the vehicle as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety. Follow all traffic laws and company safety protocols. Maintain cleanliness and routine inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues. Provide friendly and professional customer service, ensuring a positive experience for residents. Assist with loading and unloading mobility aids such as walkers and wheelchairs. Keep accurate transportation logs and schedules. Report and document any driver related incidents to include but not limited to maintenance concerns/malfunctions, property damage , resident and staff safety related incidents. Communicate with staff and residents regarding trip details and any schedule changes. Ability to assist seniors and individuals with mobility challenges. Strong communication and customer service skills. Knowledge of local roads and routes. Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and the general public. Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly and understand that for each resident the facility is considered the Resident’s home. Must demonstrate the ability to work responsibly as a team member as well as an individual. Must be honest, ethical, fair, dependable, respect confidentiality and the rights and privacy of others. Responsible for ensuring that all employees are providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Perform job duties for residents and with team members in a courteous and professional manner – demonstrating company core values at all times. Take the initiative to ensure resident safety and satisfaction is a priority. Meet and greet visitors in a friendly, helpful manner (visitors include anyone who visits the community; specifically, current residents’ families and friends, prospective residents and their families, referral sources, vendors and regulators). Answer phones appropriately, according to company and community standards. Communicate professionally and cooperate with supervisors and all community personnel. Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and, at times, hostile people within the community. Must call concierge day prior to departure for any additional outings that have been added. Ensure compliance and understanding of regulations regarding residents’ rights. Perform other duties as assigned, including support of other departments as needed. Maintain updated MVR state license and a good MVR record, per policy, and cooperation with ongoing MVR checks as needed. Report in real time any motor vehicle/driving related accidents or violation (personal /professional) to ensure policy and agency requirements remain compliant. Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must pass a criminal background check. Must meet all health and safety requirements. Must be able to perform all duties and responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation. Previous experience driving passengers, preferably in a retirement or healthcare setting. Unassisted: Frequently lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs. With Assistance: up to 100 lbs. or more. Ability to work in environments with low or bright lighting, loud noise, strong odors, variable temperatures (hot or cold), and potential exposure to infectious diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and other health-related risk. Regulatory Compliance Employees in this role must follow the directives below, depending on their assigned state licensed community: Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and licensing requirements for senior living services (independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care). Honor resident rights and follow all established protocols for care, safety, and service delivery. Maintain required education, certifications, and credentials. Participate in audits, inspections, and quality assurance initiatives. Promptly report any incidents or compliance concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
