Resident Care Manager

Brief Description The Resident Care Manager (RCM) is dedicated to improving the quality of residents’ lives by promoting health, safety, and exemplary care. Through assessments, developing care plans, staff training, medication management, and daily rounds, RCMs ensure that residents are provided with dedicated and compassionate care. RCMs oversee our Wellness Nurses, Wellness Coordinators, and Scheduler, supporting their professional growth and fostering a high‑performing team environment. RCMs are the leaders of the Resident Care team and report to the Executive Director. Our Resident Care Department provides individualized care to seniors who need assistance with personal tasks. Care associates assist residents with everyday needs such as bathing, toileting, dressing, mobility, medication administration, and engagement in social activities, striving to maintain independence and dignity through constant compassion, patience, and understanding. Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities Lead the Resident Care Department by setting a positive example, being visible, involved, and accessible, and by helping staff with their professional growth. Ensure quality assurance and regulatory compliance by monitoring assessments, referrals, coordination of services, resident files, and care plans. Provide wellness care for residents and follow up on resident concerns or health issues. Participate in care conferences with resident families to communicate changes in health and behaviors. Assess vitals of residents and report changes to the appropriate health care professional on file. Coordinate move‑ins with the Marketing team and Executive Director; conduct assessments for prospective residents to ensure proper fit and create care plans based on needs. Administer and assist with medication management using eMAR to ensure correct medication is given at the proper time. Ensure appropriate staffing levels of the Resident Care Department through leadership of the Wellness Coordinator and Scheduler; assist with hiring caregivers and med techs. Create an educational environment by training associates on applicable topics. Participate in the on‑call rotation within the department. Assist with all other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. At Waltonwood, we are all part of a team that serves residents every hour of every day. Job Requirements Registered Nurse license required in NC; preferred in MI and VA. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. CPR certification required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications required. 3–5 years of previous nursing experience required. 3–5 years of previous experience working with seniors preferred. Previous experience in assisted living or memory care preferred. Able to work weekends and holidays as needed, sharing the Manager on Duty responsibilities. Physical Requirements Constant use of manual, auditory, visual, and gross motor skills, including bi‑manual and fine motor functions. Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures. Occasional exposure to hot water and cleaning chemicals. Ability to reach, bend, twist, squat, kneel, push, pull, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds. Transfer belts or mechanical assists may require up to 80 pounds of pressure. Capability to perform repetitive movements, including grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
