Job Title: Wire Braiding Operator

Location: El Paso, TX
Employment Type: W2 Contract – 3 to 6 Months with Possibility for Extensions
Pay Rate: $16.50–$18.00/hour – Determined based on experience (Paid Weekly) Work Model: 100% Onsite Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance

Note: This is a W2 only role — C2C and C2H will not be considered.

Role Overview

BEPC is seeking an experienced Wire Braiding Operator to support our customer's manufacturing operations in El Paso, TX. This position is responsible for the setup, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of wire braiding machines, ensuring consistent production quality and efficiency.

The successful candidate will operate specialized braiding equipment, monitor wire tension and machine performance, perform adjustments and ensure finished products meet engineering specifications and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of direct, hands-on experience operating wire braiding machines, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read blueprints, interpret wire diagrams, and use precision measuring instruments.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor wire braiding machines and associated manufacturing equipment.
• Follow established braiding procedures, wind-up instructions, engineering specifications, and internal quality standards.
• Start and operate braiding machines, ensuring materials are properly wound onto take-up rolls, spools, or receiving containers.
• Thread materials through machine guides, tensioning mechanisms, braiding points, and tension rollers.
• Continuously monitor the braiding process to identify wire breaks, tension issues, and other production irregularities.
• Repair broken wire connections and replace empty bobbins to maintain production continuity.
• Set up and operate braiding machines used to insulate wire.
• Position bobbins of insulated material on spindles and thread strands through braiding heads according to engineering designs.
• Secure wire spools onto payoff spindles and thread wire through machine guides, footage counters, and braiding heads.
• Adjust setscrews and tensioning mechanisms to maintain proper wire tension.
• Adjust traverse attachments to ensure consistent and even winding.
• Operate equipment that winds braiding wire around capstans and onto take-up spools.
• Perform machine adjustments and troubleshoot operating issues to maintain production efficiency.
• Disassemble, clean, reassemble, and perform general maintenance on braiding equipment.
• Use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify product dimensions and specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wire diagrams, and manufacturing instructions.
• Perform machine setups using English and Metric measurement systems.
• Monitor product quality and identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Communicate equipment issues, production concerns, and improvement opportunities to supervisors and coworkers.
• Follow all applicable workplace safety, environmental, and manufacturing procedures.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience operating wire braiding machines.
• Demonstrated experience setting up, operating, and monitoring wire braiding equipment.
• Ability to identify and correct wire breaks, tension issues, and machine operating problems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wire diagrams, and engineering specifications.
• Experience or ability to use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring devices.
• Experience or ability to perform machine setups using English and Metric units of measurement.
• Strong mathematical skills for measurements, machine adjustments, and production calculations.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Ability to follow detailed manufacturing instructions and established operating procedures.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work 100% onsite in El Paso, TX.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of direct hands-on experience operating wire braiding machines.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial wire braiding equipment.
• Experience performing machine setups, tension adjustments, and precision measurements.
• Familiarity with manufacturing quality standards and continuous improvement practices.
  

Manufacturing & Work Environment

This position is a hands-on manufacturing role involving the operation and maintenance of specialized wire braiding equipment.

Candidates should be comfortable with:

• Operating industrial machinery and monitoring production processes.
• Handling wire, spools, bobbins, and machine components.
• Performing detailed machine setups and adjustments.
• Using precision measuring instruments to verify product specifications.
• Troubleshooting equipment and performing routine maintenance.
• Lifting materials or components weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Following established workplace safety and environmental procedures.
• Working collaboratively with supervisors and production team members to maintain quality and output.
