Engineering Services Co-op - Fall 2026

POSITION SUMMARY

The Co‑op is a college or college‑bound student pursuing an engineering or quality‑related degree and is interested in gaining experience in engineering, manufacturing, assembly techniques, process development, design principles and philosophies, along with quality assurance. The Co‑op will support the Model Shop by utilizing various shop machinery, equipment, and CAD software. The role involves working in a fast‑paced environment, interacting with employees and management, solving problems, and creating innovative solutions. The Co‑op will have hands‑on experience in the development of concepts, prototypes, fixtures, and production equipment, including design, fabrication, documentation, and other assignments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

Involved in building simple prototypes, fixtures, gauges, and equipment Solving problems of basic to moderate scope and complexity Assist in the design, fabrication, and assembly of working prototypes, fixtures, and equipment from the guidance of assigned mentor or shop management Manipulate basic to moderate CAD files with multiple parts and assemblies Work under the supervision and guidance of shop personnel and/or shop management Support engineering activities and other company functions as assigned by supervisor Identify assembly process or equipment improvements Document all work in compliance with AtriCure Quality System requirements and corporate policies

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Current undergraduate student working towards a degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering/Technical degree. Desire to initiate a mechanical/manufacturing/engineering career in future

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

MasterCam – Design & Programming experience (CAD/CAM) AutoDesk Inventor – Design & Schematics Machining experience – manual and CNC KneeMill & Lathe

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as required Ability to occasionally bend and push/pull Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds Ability to pass pre‑employment drug screen and background check
