Forge Process Manufacturing Engineer (Onsite)

What You Will Do Columbus Forge, a recognized leader in producing disks for the aerospace propulsion market, is seeking a Forge Process Manufacturing Engineer to support the organization. The engineer is responsible for all aspects of part maturation from raw material to end use, specifically for New Part Introduction. Responsible for development of disk hardware through Forge and Heat Treat processes; perform finite element analysis to define forging, heat treating, and tooling shapes utilizing DEFORM software; create engineering drawings for raw material, laboratory testing sample locations, and forge tooling. Analyze survey data to ensure parts meet required mechanical properties; follow parts through gated development process phases from product definition to delivery, and be responsible for all aspects of part maturation from raw material to end use. Develop and implement plans that align with business strategy to further world‑class technology portfolio. Provide operational engineering support to develop technologies and processes supporting the growth curve and cost‑reduction targets. Leverage manufacturing innovations to improve cost, delivery, and quality of aerospace disk forgings; assist with problem solving during manufacturing‑related investigations. Own relentless RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) for correcting non‑conformance in part families; perform DIVEs (Define, Investigate, Verify, Ensure); implement and monitor corrective actions; monitor and report on the health of a part family, monitoring non‑conformances and how the part "runs" compared to "standard" times. Lead the CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) journey to continuously improve quality and exceed customer expectations; develop disk process using statistical methods that meet or exceed business objectives for process control. Periodic travel ( Qualifications You Must Have Bachelor's Degree in engineering and 5 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, materials, quality or similar environment OR a Master's degree and 3 or more years of experience in the same environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products. Experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities in a constantly fluctuating work environment. Qualifications We Prefer Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Material Science. Understanding of continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma and Lean concepts. Salary and Benefits The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD – 165,200 USD.
