Are you a detail-oriented finance professional looking for a great short-term project to showcase your skills? Spherion is seeking an entry-level Accountant I for a premier professional organization in the local area. This position will support the daily financial operations, routine accounting tasks, and recordkeeping for an initial 3-month project.
Working under direct supervision, you will handle day-to-day transaction documentation, reconciliations, and essential audit preparation. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain high-level organizational experience with a potential opportunity for extension based on project needs!
Accounts Payable & Receivable Support: Verify invoice approvals, process transactions under supervision, maintain vendor W-9 files, and accurately record incoming payments.
Credit Card & Expense Reconciliation: Reconcile credit card transactions weekly and monthly, collect receipts, and ensure all business expenses comply with established financial policies.
General Ledger & Journal Entries: Prepare routine journal entries, maintain clean supporting documentation, and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Payroll & Reporting Assistance: Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing support and compile necessary schedules for monthly/quarterly financial reports.
Audit Preparation: Organize financial documentation and maintain highly accurate records to support internal and external audit readiness.
