Clinical Dietitian Position at MercyOne ClintonAttention Registered Dietitian Nutritionists!At MercyOne Clinton, located in Clinton, Iowa, we are hiring for a full-time (0.9 FTE) clinical dietitian to join our team!Clinton, Iowa, is a historic Mississippi River town in eastern Iowa. Known for its scenic riverfront and Eagle Point Park, it serves as a gateway to the river with two bridges to Illinois. It is located about 38 to 40 miles north-northeast of the Quad Cities (Davenport).The MercyOne Clinton Clinical Dietitian Position offers a wide range of clinical nutrition responsibilities primarily supporting patients in dialysis and inpatient care, with exciting opportunities to grow your expertise in oncology and cardiac nutrition. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered nutrition interventions while working alongside a supportive interdisciplinary team.As part of the Trinity Health System/MercyOne Iowa Clinical network, our RDNs enjoy access to free continuing education hours, involvement in a variety of subcommittees connecting you with fellow RDNs across the United States and valuable opportunities for professional presentations and collaboration with over 200 RDNs nationwide representing all areas of clinical nutrition expertise.This position is 100% on-site and prefers minimum of 3 years clinical nutrition experience.Position PurposeDevelops and implements nutrition care plans based on nutritional assessment of patient and interdisciplinary health care team members. Patients served range in age from newborn to geriatric. Supports, facilitates, and participates in the elder-focused social model of care.Essential FunctionsDetermines interventions to improve nutritional status. Provides diet instructions, assessments, recommendations and orders as requested by physician for specialized nutritional support. (TPN and enteral nutrition) Provides nutritional services to outpatients, renal dialysis patients and community service groups as assigned. Communicates with physicians and health care professionals on a wide variety of medical conditions. Communicates nutritional needs to patients/residents and families. Demonstrates proper use of equipment and supplies necessary to function as clinical dietitian. Provides patient evidence based nutritional care as appropriate. Recommends appropriate therapeutic diets for patient's medical condition as appropriate. Must be licensed by the State of Iowa or licensure eligible. Must pass the CDR registration exam within 6 months of hire date. Prefer one-year professional experience. Baccalaureate degree majoring in food and nutrition, dietetics or related field. Successful completion of a ACEND accredited postgraduate or equivalent dietetic program that fulfills requirements for registration in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Must have knowledge of specialized nutrition support and a working knowledge of disease entities and the relationship to nutrition. Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills in a Windows environment. Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission and vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
