Summer Camp | Class Assistant 2026

Do you have plans for this Summer 2026? Chess Wizards is looking for energetic people to teach chess in summer camps. If you are willing to travel and love chess, and can make it fun for kids of all ages, this could be the perfect summer job. We’ve developed an interactive day‑camp format which includes activities to keep kids physically and mentally engaged. Day In Camp Exploration of a technical chess concept Group challenges to hone specific chess thinking patterns Healthy snack Mini‑tournament Physical activities and camp games (capture‑the‑flag, blob tag) Area Bend, OR Responsibilities Assist Chess Instructors in teaching chess to campers Create a safe, supportive, stimulating and fun environment Supervise and provide support for daily activities such as recreational games, opening/closing Assist with drop‑off, pick‑up, daily set‑up and clean‑up Supervise campers Requirements Willingness to teach through fun and innovative methods Safety and security conscious Ability to respond to emergency situations Compensation Package $600 for 1 week (full time – 30 hours a week, 9am‑3pm) $300 for 1 week (half day – 15 hours a week, 9am‑12pm or 12pm‑3pm) Duration Several 1‑week camps during summer.
