Korman Signs is seeking a Customer Service & Order Processing Specialist to serve as an important link between our customers and our production team. This position is responsible for accurately processing customer orders and quotes, confirming product and material requirements, and making sure orders are ready to move into production.

The person in this role will work directly with customers to answer questions, prepare quotes, process orders, and provide order and shipping updates. Internally, you will coordinate with the Sales team, Purchasing, and Production to make sure each order is entered correctly and supported with the information and materials needed to manufacture it. This is a detail-oriented position that requires strong communication, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple orders and priorities at the same time. Some customer requests are straightforward, while others require research, coordination, or an understanding of state specifications and product requirements.

Korman Signs has manufactured traffic signs and work zone safety products in Richmond, Virginia since 1975. Over the past 51 years, we have grown from a small local business into a national manufacturer serving contractors, public works departments, distributors, and Departments of Transportation across the country. Still family-operated, Korman Signs combines experienced people with modern manufacturing technology to produce everything from standard traffic signs and work zone products to large interstate guide signs and fleet graphics. Responsibilities

• Order Processing : Enter and manage customer orders and quotes in our ERP system, ensuring pricing, shipping information, product details, and customer specifications are accurate.
• Work Order Creation: Create accurate work orders that provide Production with the information needed to manufacture each order correctly.
• Material Allocation: Review inventory availability and allocate or tag materials to individual jobs so required materials are identified and available for production.
• Customer Service: Respond to customer questions and concerns professionally and promptly. Help customers identify appropriate products and navigate state specifications, material requirements, and other order details.
• Quoting: Provide pricing for standard quote requests and coordinate with Estimating when custom products, special requirements, or non-standard pricing are involved.
• Order and Shipping Support: Respond to questions regarding order status, lead times, shipping, and delivery, and coordinate internally to resolve issues when they arise.
• Internal Communication: Work closely with Sales team, Production, Purchasing, Shipping, and other departments to keep orders moving and address questions or discrepancies before they become production problems.

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is organized, accurate, comfortable working with detailed information, and able to communicate effectively with both customers and our manufacturing team.

• Two or more years of customer service, order processing, administrative, or related experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment is preferred.
• A four-year college degree is preferred; relevant professional experience will also be considered.
• Experience working with an ERP or business management system for order entry, inventory, purchasing, production, or related functions is preferred.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel, including data entry and basic formulas.
• Comfortable learning and working within multiple software applications throughout the day.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly when entering product information, materials, quantities, pricing, and customer specifications.
• Basic understanding of inventory and how material availability can affect production scheduling and order completion.
• Ability to understand how an order moves from customer request through production to shipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to ask questions, identify missing information, and follow through until an issue is resolved.
• Ability to manage multiple orders and priorities while maintaining accuracy.
• Dependable, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

This is an on-site position at our Richmond, Virginia facility.

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual salary range $60,000 to $75,000, based on experience.
• Merit-based bonus opportunities twice a year based on company performance.
