Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring TX or compact RN licensure and prior ED experience in a Trauma Level II facility.

Details

• Work in a fast-paced Emergency Department at a Trauma Level II, Primary Stroke and STEMI Center hospital
• Pediatric Readiness Facility serving 7 local counties
• 29-bed ED with 8 surge hallway beds, 1 dedicated Trauma Room, and 6 Vertical Care (fast-track) rooms
• 4:1 RN ratio in the main ED and 3:1 RN ratio in the Vertical Care area
• Night shift schedule from 6:45PM-7:15AM
• Rotating weekends required
• Holiday coverage required for 2 major holidays

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale, and Ascension CPI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be AHA-certified
• TNCC certification must be renewed every 4 years
• NIH Stroke Scale certification renewal varies by group (yearly or every 2 years)
• Ascension CPI must be an 8-hour course renewed every 2 years
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Must provide a US Social Security Number and US home address

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care in a high-acuity trauma and stroke center environment
• Work alongside a large ED team of over 120 associates and a robust provider staffing model throughout shifts
• Scrub requirement: navy blue top and bottom
• Ascension-branded shirt required on payday Fridays
• On-site cafeteria available with extended hours and nearby restaurant delivery options
• Radius rules apply and may affect pay rate eligibility for candidates living near the facility
• Local candidates may be considered at a reduced rate
