Systems Engineer - IT, Senior / Clearance Eligible / TX or CA / Hybrid

Headquartered in Bethesda, MD, we operate in all 50 states. Position Overview Manage isolated (closed) environments (including DoD cloud) for assigned programs. Apply patches, manage compliance and deploy infrastructure. Perform systems administration, modernization, optimization, and performance tuning on Linux, Windows Server, VMware ESXi, and EMC storage platforms. Basic Qualifications Ability and willingness to obtain a Secret Clearance. Ability to obtain Security+ Certification (or equivalent) within 90-days of start. U.S. Citizenship required. Experience with DoD Cloud environments (Azure, AWS) and compliance framework. 3+ years administering RHEL8 (or equivalent) and Windows Server 2022/Windows 11. Automation experience with Ansible and PowerShell (scripting, config‑drift remediation). Ability to lift 30 lb (rack‑mount hardware). Desired Skills Hands‑on implementation of DISA STIGs and use of security tools (Nessus, Trellix, Ivanti, Splunk). Active Secret or Top‑Secret/SCI clearance. Advanced certifications: RHCSA/RHCE, Azure AZ‑800, AWS SysOps, VMware VCP (or similar). Virtualization experience: VMware vSphere/vCenter, Horizon, vSAN/VxRail. Enterprise storage administration (NetApp/EMC) and disaster‑recovery procedures. Container/Kubernetes knowledge and GitOps practices (Docker, Helm, ArgoCD/Flux). Monitoring/observability platforms (Dynatrace, Nagios, Prometheus‑Grafana, Splunk). Possess DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III certification (Security+, CASP, CISSP). Security Clearance Statement This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration. Clearance level: Secret. Work Schedule 4x10‑hour day, 3 days off per week. Part‑time remote telework may be incorporated as discussed. Compensation and Benefits Pay Rate: Annual base salary range varies by state; examples include $85,500 – $150,765 in certain states or $98,300 – $170,315 in major metropolitan areas.
