Valid Arizona Driver's License.Job GoalsTo execute the renovation and repair of buildings and associated systems, the construction of additions, installation of new equipment and repair of existing equipment, grounds maintenance, and general custodial care of the facility as assigned.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities1. Ability to demonstrate an acceptable degree of skills in those areas identified above.2. Knowledge of manual and electrical hand tools.3. Ability to operate a light truck and other related motorized equipment.4. Ability to relate well with Facilities staff, school employees, and public.5. Ability to obtain licenses where required.Position Responsibilities1. Performs routine, repetitive daily inspection and maintenance necessary to building exteriors/interiors.2. Assists and performs semiskilled tasks of a general nature in connection with maintenance, repair and construction tasks in the upkeep of facilities.3. Assists and performs with installation, maintenance, repair and construction work in the basic building maintenance trades, such as carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, locksmith, carpet, and mechanics.4. Assists and performs functions in the construction, installation and maintenance of roofs, furniture, fences, cabinets, shelving, marker boards/chalkboards, tack boards and a variety of other structures and items.5. Maintains warehouse and shelving in clean and orderly conditions.6. Inspects properties and communicate with management regarding proper grounds keeping and general cleanup and maintenance.7. Performs general grounds keeping on a daily basis; inspect outside of facility areas, ensure disposal areas are kept clean and in a safe condition.8. Prepares and paints walls and woodwork or performs other types of refinish; installs or repairs carpet; performs custodial duties as required.9. Maintains accurate records of preventative maintenance schedules.10. May perform weekly safety checks throughout the facility to ensure a safe and clean environment for the patrons of the facility and to eliminate all hazards.11. Perform regular custodial duties in assigned area(s) of building(s).12. Accept instructions from head Facilities Coordinator verbally or in writing.13. Provide services as necessary to support curricular and extracurricular events and activities.14. Maintain inventory of custodial/maintenance supplies and equipment.15. Restock disposable custodial/maintenance items and provide head custodian/supervisor with inventory usage data.16. Clean and preserve designated spaces, equipment, furniture, etc. in the building(s).Probationary Period: Newly appointed employee will be subject to an initial ninety (90) calendar day probation period.Physical Demands: Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, repetitive motions. Must work with energized equipment and in hazardous, adverse weather conditions to restore power to all or part of a school. Ability to climb ladders from six, eight, ten and twelve foot step ladders to extension ladders; bend, kneel, and stoop to repair electrical devices; and pull conductors through raceways carrying tools and material into buildings and up ladders.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
