Job Description Plasma Center Nurse (Medical Support Specialist) – BioLife Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. You will support plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis (SPE). Manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. Evaluate donor reactions at the facility in accordance with SOPs and coordinate care for medical emergencies, including development of standing orders and transport to emergency care. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical and technical issues related to donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents, determine need for further evaluation by occupational health/ER, and follow EHS guidance on incidents. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats in the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements. Licensed or certified in the state of assignment (LPN or LVN). Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Minimum of two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
