Senior Process Engineer - Resources Consulting

DescriptionAbout the JobWe are seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our Consulting Resources Team, supporting clients across the Mining, Minerals and Metals sectors. You will bring experience in operations, consulting and/or process design engineering, with a strong foundation in process engineering principles and a track record of delivering technically robust solutions across project lifecycles.Experience in hydrometallurgical and/or mineral processing operations, process studies, brownfield modifications, debottlenecking, operational improvement initiatives and capital projects will be highly regarded. You will combine strong technical capability with practical plant troubleshooting and process optimisation experience to deliver safe, effective and fit-for-purpose solutions.About UsWorley is a global company of energy, chemicals and resources experts headquartered in Australia. We specialise in consulting, engineering, procurement and construction across the project lifecycle, with services extending through to operations and decommissioning.Leveraging extensive experience and AI-enabled delivery, we support customers in navigating complexity as they meet today's needs and transition to more sustainable solutions.What You'll DoSupport conceptual, pre-feasibility and detailed process engineering designs for greenfield and brownfield expansion projects.Develop process engineering deliverables including Design Criteria, Mass and Energy Balances, process simulations, calculations, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), datasheets, control philosophies and technical reports.Complete preliminary equipment sizing activities and engage with vendors to ensure selected equipment meets process requirements.Conduct technical bid evaluations and obtain budgetary quotations to support capital cost estimates.Support process evaluations and trade-off studies to justify major project decisions using multi-criteria assessment methodologies.Collaborate with Process Leads and multidisciplinary engineering teams in HAZID, HAZOP, 3D model reviews and other technical workshops to deliver safe, optimised and economically viable solutions.Work within company procedures, technical guidelines, quality assurance frameworks, safety requirements and project-specific standards.What You'll HaveA Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy or a related science discipline.Experience within mineral processing and/or hydrometallurgical processes such as lithium, cobalt, nickel, copper, rare earths, alumina or uranium.Previous operational, consulting and/or process engineering design experience.Proven operational and/or design experience across a range of process unit operations.Professional accreditation and compliance with local engineering registration requirements, or active progress towards achieving registration.Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.Experience contributing to front-end conceptual studies and pre-feasibility studies (preferred).Operational plant experience (advantageous).Experience using process simulation software such as METSIM, SysCAD, HSC or similar packages (advantageous).A demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.Brisbane or Perth location preferred, however other locations may be considered.Why You Should ApplyJoin a fun, inclusive and globally connected team of professionals.The opportunity to influence projects of global importance.Competitive remuneration and employee benefits.Access to a world-class network of technical experts.A collaborative environment that values technical excellence and knowledge sharing.Career development opportunities beyond this role.Moving Forward TogetherWe want our people to be energized and empowered to drive sustainable impact.
