Substitue Cook/Housekeeper for Head Start

What it’s like to be a Substitute Cook You will play a vital role in supporting the nutritional needs of infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children at various center locations throughout the county. Responsibilities include preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, and snacks using preset menus, receiving regular training on procedures and required paperwork for the Childcare Food Program, and working morning shifts of approximately five hours. Desired Candidate Profile To excel in this role you need: High school diploma or equivalent At least one year of food service experience (housekeeping experience preferred) Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices Health screening requirements: current negative TB test, required immunizations (pertussis, measles), current influenza shot Valid California driver’s license and proof of current auto insurance coverage Attention to detail, ability to follow preset menus, and effective communication skills Salary: $16.90 – $17.00 per hour.
