Respiratory Therapist II

Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides comprehensive clinical care to critically ill pediatric patients during transportation, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Deliver individualized patient care under medical supervision, perform advanced neonatal procedures (e.g., intubation, ventilation, UAC/UVC insertion), assess and evaluate care plans, and maintain certifications. Lead and supervise nursing staff, coordinate with transport teams, and ensure safe medical management during transport. Provide emergency interventions, psychosocial support, and educational outreach. Maintain pediatric transport quality data and advocate for patients. Qualifications & Skills: Must hold a licensed respiratory therapist credential with at least 5 years of pediatric critical care experience (NICU, PICU, etc.). Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and completion of advanced trauma courses. Must possess strong physical stamina, manual dexterity, excellent vision and hearing, and ability to work in high-stress, variable environments, including aircraft and ambulance settings. Additional Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., perform fine and gross motor tasks, and work rotating shifts. Maintains current licensure and certifications, with ongoing professional development.
