Irrigation Technician

The Irrigation Technician is responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing irrigation systems at commercial properties. The role ensures irrigation systems operate efficiently to maintain landscaped areas and support overall property appearance.

This position works independently or alongside landscape crews to diagnose irrigation issues, perform system repairs, and maintain proper watering schedules.

Primary Responsibilities and Key Deliverables
Irrigation System Maintenance
• Inspect irrigation systems to ensure proper operation and coverage.
• Adjust sprinkler heads, valves, and timers to maintain proper watering schedules.
• Perform seasonal irrigation system checks and adjustments.
• Diagnose and repair irrigation system problems including leaks, broken sprinkler heads, damaged valves, and electrical control issues.
• Replace irrigation components when necessary to maintain system functionality.
• Assist with installation of irrigation lines, sprinkler heads, and control systems when required.
• Ensure irrigation installations follow company standards and local regulations.
• Monitor irrigation systems to ensure efficient water usage.
• Identify opportunities to improve irrigation efficiency and system performance.
• Follow company safety procedures when working with irrigation systems and equipment.
• Maintain safe work practices when working around utilities, landscaping equipment, or job sites.
• Document irrigation repairs and system issues.
• Assist landscape crews with related grounds maintenance tasks when needed.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent in addition to an Irrigation Technician License preferred.

Experience
• 2–3 years of irrigation or landscape maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing irrigation systems preferred.
