Student Studio Monitor, 849 Studio Building (2026-2027) KyCAD would like to announce three vacancies to be filled in the capacity of Student Studio Monitor in the 849 Studio Building for the 2026-2027 Academic Year. This position is open to the entire student body at the Kentucky College of Art + Design. This position will be active from August 3, 2026 to May 15, 2027. This position is renewable. Available shifts* Monday 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM Tuesday 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM Wednesday 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM Thursday 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM Saturday 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM Sunday 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM *Hours vary by week, at a maximum of 12 hours per week. Pay Rate $12/hour Position Description Under the direction of the VPAA/Dean and Studio Manager, the Student Studio Monitor supports the safe and effective use of classrooms, equipment, and shared studio spaces in the 849 Studio Building. The position serves as the primary building attendant during designated open studio hours, helping ensure that the facility is properly supervised and accessible to students. Responsibilities include monitoring studio activity during assigned shifts, maintaining overall cleanliness of shared spaces, tracking attendance, and communicating any questions, issues, or concerns from building users. The Student Studio Monitor also helps uphold and enforce all safety policies and studio protocols established by the Kentucky College of Art + Design. Responsibilities Serves as an engaged staff member for the 849 Studio Building ensuring safety. Serves as studio attendant for the facility. Works with, completes, and maintains the user information log for building users during work hours. Secures the facility at the end of each shift. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications A current, engaged student within the current KyCAD community. Training, education, experience, and other credentials vary by position in order to identify one or more appropriate candidates to perform the tasks and activities relating to a role; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. The ideal candidate will have the ability to perform the work as outlined in the position description and responsibilities sections above. This position requires the ability to lift 30 lbs (approx.) and must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
