Position Description The Travel Specialist coordinates all aspects of the travel booking and trip completion/expense reporting process for company employees, including coordination of airfare, hotels, and rental vehicles. A successful Travel Specialist is organized, exercises discretion and independent judgment, complies with regulatory requirements, and can manage multiple trips at various stages in the process. Essential Functions Coordinates internal approvals and arrangements for international and/or domestic business travel in compliance with Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) and contractual requirements; supports employees as trip changes occur to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective travel. Completes travel-related expense reports in accordance with internal policies and external regulations. Serves as main point of contact for external escalations or issues related to travel vendors, requiring tact, persuasion and negotiation skills. Completes onboarding and out-processing activities for ATI employees. Supports external audit of travel expenses, as needed. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive personal information and PII. Monitors policy adherence and provides guidance on travel policy, risk and compliance; documents non-compliant bookings or expenses for potential audit or coaching to strengthen internal controls. Provides real-time travel assistance during emergencies, delays, or last-minute changes and cancellations with minimal disruptions. Leads planning and execution of group travel, including room block management, contract negotiation for favorable rates and terms, rooming list creation, and coordination with other departments on attrition and related tasks. Manages organizational travel calendar, maintains traveler itineraries, and monitors travel advisories to ensure safety and duty of care; supports leadership visibility and resolves scheduling conflicts. Performs travel reconciliation and identifies inconsistencies in travel details. Performs other duties as assigned. Creates and reviews travel training material for onboarding and ongoing employee development. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and two years’ related experience; Associate’s degree and four years’ related experience; or high school diploma and eight years’ related experience. Experience in corporate travel booking and expense reporting is preferred. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience with travel coordination and planning; experience preparing expense reports or similar travel reports. Experience using SAP Concur is a plus. Strong customer service orientation, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills (internally and externally). Ability to work as a positive team member to meet schedules and deadlines. Must pass a background check to access sensitive information and automated systems.
