Research Project Manager

Position Overview ATLAS, a research center at the University of Kansas, is seeking a Research Project Manager to join the RDOPS team. The role involves managing multi‑phase or multi‑year projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams. Key Areas Research and development project management Grant‑funded work Leading research staff External partner management Responsibilities Lead day‑to‑day operations of multi‑phase or multi‑year research and development projects. (70%) Manage the project lifecycle from planning to delivery. (70%) Facilitate project planning meetings with cross‑functional teams. (70%) Maintain project scope, resources, progress, and quality. (70%) Communicate status to stakeholders. (70%) Provide process oversight and continuous improvement. (25%) Engage in quality control and support other teams. (25%) Special projects or other duties as assigned. (5%) Qualifications Three‑year bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, public health, psychology, or a related field and three (3) years of relevant experience. Experience managing multiple concurrent or complex projects using tools such as Asana, Smartsheet, MS Project, Teams or SharePoint (3+ years). Strong organizational and project‑management skills, with a proven ability to create timelines, track progress, and manage multiple priorities. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in a relevant discipline. Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM, PMI‑ACP). One year of experience with grant‑funded projects. Experience with K‑12, the assessment industry, or applied research settings. Experience facilitating staff training and professional development. Experience working in a multidisciplinary, virtual, team‑based environment. Advertised salary is based on experience and qualification. Job is not available for H‑1B sponsorship or remote employment outside Kansas.
