Job Summary Material Planner V will be the functional leader responsible for management and execution of all phases of the assigned program production plans. This includes coordination with program scheduler/planner, determination of program production schedule requirements, and integration with key program functions and suppliers to develop, maintain and drive successful and timely execution of the detailed production plans. This position primarily focuses on programs in the prototyping, design and development portion of the product life cycle and requires strong experience with organizing and planning to accomplish program objectives and demands. Responsibilities Partner with the program manager, program planner/scheduler, control account managers and other program team members from the supply chain, quality and operations functions to strategize and create a plan that ensures production schedules and supply and demand requirements are aligned to meet program deliverable requirements. Communicate effectively (both spoken and written) with program teams, company management, business partners, and customers. Unless otherwise stated in the requirements section of an individual job description, our positions require U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency, or other status as a U.S. Person as defined by 8 USC 1324b(a)(3). Coordinate with the program team, developing the production schedule based on lead‑time analysis of each supplier/operation required to meet program need dates according to the program IMS. Plan, direct and monitor execution of the production schedule through timely release of engineering drawings to issuance of purchase requisitions, purchase orders and track supplier status at each stage of the production plan to ensure maximum opportunity for timely order fulfillment. Create and utilize tools required to status ongoing efforts in all stages of the production plan to enable active management of the production plan. Work closely with VTS management and the program team to ensure that all supply/demand risks and critical shortage issues are identified early, proactively elevated, and properly acted upon. Conduct status meetings with internal and external customers. Develop processes for monitoring and reporting production capacity, purchasing activities and critical shortages. Support the development and implementation of performance metrics such as On‑Time Purchase Requisition issuance, On‑Time Delivery to Contract and On‑Time Delivery to Manufacturing. Work closely with the assigned program staff to ensure adequate direction is provided regarding supply and demand requirements. Ensure adherence to all internal supply chain and operations processes. Participate in customer meetings, peer reviews, and proble‑solving meetings. Other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in supply chain management. Minimum of 20 years of production control, material planning and/or production scheduling experience including at least five (5) years of managing DOD propulsion‑related programs. Minimum of five (5) years of experience working production control and material planning for programs in the prototyping, design and development portion of the product life cycle. Experience managing Department of Defense (DoD) programs for the U.S. Government. Experience across various ERP systems to include MRP, Costpoint, SAP, Oracle or similar tools. Direct experience in managing large Subcontracts. Experience briefing program teams, executive management and customers on production plan status, risks, and future. Ability to multi‑task in a highly collaborative team environment while thinking critically to solve problems quickly and accurately, particularly as related to exceptions in MRP, Bills of Material, material planning, purchase requisitions, purchase orders and ECOs. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and overall knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project). Experience using and managing ERP/MRP systems. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship). Preferred Qualifications Experience with AS9100 and DCMA standards. Demonstrated expertise in Master Production Scheduling. Demonstrated expertise in lean and Six Sigma principles. Experience working Missile Defense Agency programs with MAP/PMAP requirements. Familiarity and/or experience with Lean Enterprise Institute (or equivalent) principles involving manufacturing, quality, or supply chain management. Experience in using Integrated Program Management Tools. Currently holds an active DoD Secret Clearance. Additional Requirements To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Compensation Salary range: $130,000 - $150,000 USD . Actual compensation may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors such as location, experience, and performance.
