Jackson Dental is expanding to include a Speech and Development program as part of our functional, whole-health model of care. We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist who is excited to help build and grow a program that integrates speech, oral function, and overall health.

This is not a traditional school or hospital-based role. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with a collaborative clinical team while helping shape a new and growing service line within our practice.

Position Overview

The Speech Language Pathologist will evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, and oral motor concerns while working within a collaborative, function-focused care model. This role includes working with children and potentially adults, with an emphasis on identifying and addressing the root causes of speech and developmental concerns.

This is a 4-day per week position , offering flexibility and work-life balance in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive speech and language evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Deliver therapy using a hybrid approach that blends evidence-based techniques with play and engagement, ensuring each child remains motivated while making measurable progress
  • Collaborate closely with dentists, myofunctional therapists, and clinical team members to evaluate the whole patient, not just symptoms
  • Contribute to identifying underlying factors impacting speech and development, including:
    • Airway and breathing patterns
    • Oral function and tongue posture
    • Growth and development
    • Occlusion and need for orthodontic expansion or intervention
  • Provide ongoing therapy sessions (articulation, language, oral motor, and related areas)
  • Educate and guide parents to support carryover at home
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all patient visits
  • Participate in building protocols, workflows, and growth of the speech program
  • Contribute to a positive, patient-centered experience
What Makes This Role Different
  • Opportunity to work in a truly integrated care model alongside dental and myofunctional providers
  • Focus on identifying and treating root causes, not just symptoms
  • Smaller, more intentional caseloads with a focus on outcomes
  • Ability to help build and shape a program from the ground up
  • Greater flexibility and autonomy compared to traditional settings
  • A supportive team that values growth, collaboration, and patient care
Professional Growth & Development
  • Opportunity to expand into myofunctional therapy within a functional care model
  • Pathway to myofunctional therapy certification with financial support provided
  • Ongoing collaboration with providers focused on airway, oral function, and development
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Active or eligible for South Dakota licensure
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred (CF considered)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Interest in oral function, airway, or myofunctional therapy is a plus
Schedule & Compensation
  • Full-time, 4 days per week
  • Competitive compensation based on experience
  • Opportunities for growth as the program expands
