We are seeking a team member who is able to:

• Apply thoughtful, critical analysis to financial reporting.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to the multiple agency partners we support.
• Confidently form and communicate independent, well-reasoned opinions.

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

• Prepare and analyze statewide financial reports, such as but not limited to the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Review and assess the impact of proposed Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) statements and identify their potential impact on state-wide financial statements.
• Extract, analyze, and interpret financial data from the statewide accounting system.
• Assist in maintaining, reviewing, and evaluating the statewide accounting system to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Provide responsive, knowledgeable customer support to State agency personnel on a wide variety of accounting issues.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and 2-4 years of relevant experience and/or appropriate certification. Substitutions may be allowed, including (but not limited to) professional certifications or additional relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience interpreting and applying GAAP.
• Knowledge of Governmental Accounting and GASB Standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Access and Excel.
• Familiarity with the statewide accounting system and data warehouse reports.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Flexibility, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with team members and agency partners.
