ParalegalBecome part of an inclusive organization with over 40,000 teammates, whose mission is to improve the health and well-being of the unique communities we serve.Summary: Under the direction of licensed attorneys, the Paralegal provides a wide variety of paralegal functions, which may include drafting legal documents and contracts concerning business transactions and acquisitions; performing basic case management skills; and acting as a front-end interface with teammates within UNC Health Pardee.Responsibilities:Assist General Counsel with coordination of contract review processTimely prepare, review and proofread a high volume and diverse range of agreements, with a focus on physician employment agreements, real estate leases and vendor contractsRevise contract language in partnership with General CounselAssist General Counsel in creation, use and updating of template and form documentsOrganize and route high volume of agreements for timely executionProactively engage in and lead contracting process improvement initiatives and implements smooth, speedy and efficient work flowsOrganize and maintain corporate files, such as organizational documents, minutes and resolutionsAssist in documentation production, redaction of documents and preparation of document notebooks and exhibitsAssist General Counsel with file maintenance, case management plans, calendaring, invoice and check processing, and routine communications with internal clientsUnder attorney direction, draft correspondence, pleadings, and legal instrumentsPerform research and assist with projects as assigned by attorney. Performing general administrative duties, such as filing, organizing, and routing contracts for executionFile documents with courts and administrative tribunals.Be familiar with sources of federal and North Carolina law, including the North Carolina General Statutes, State rules and regulations, and federal statutes and regulations.Other information:QualificationsRequiredAssociate's degree or two years of college in an appropriate discipline.Three (3) years of relevant experiencePreferredExperience in a healthcare setting or with health care-related law or policyExperience with Contract Management Software, Westlaw, and LexisNexisBachelor's degree or higher in an appropriate disciplineCertified as a National (NALA) or North Carolina State Paralegal
