About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year of experience required License: Pending License not accepted Certifications: BLS, OCN preferred Must-Have: Oncology experience required Oncology certification preferred but not required 3rd year med-surg experience preferred Description: Responsible for providing nursing care to patients in the medical surgical oncology unit. Experience in the oncology field is required. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a diverse patient population. Ability to administer medication, monitor vital signs, and provide patient education. Experience with isolation precautions, oxygen administration, and peripheral line care is necessary. Familiarity with charting systems is required. Team collaboration with interdisciplinary support services is essential. Flexibility to float within the pod is a requirement. Participation in pre-approved weekend shifts is expected. The daily patient census and patient ratio may require adapting to changing situations. Candidates should have the ability to manage patients with complex medical needs. Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interactions with patients and families. The role involves collaboration with various healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care. Regular documentation and adherence to care protocols are expected. Ability to work weekends, with a requirement of four weekend shifts per contract, or every other weekend.
