Human Resources Director

A national healthcare supply chain organization is seeking a strategic and experienced Human Resources Director to lead and oversee key HR functions. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership while driving employee relations, compliance, engagement, and workforce strategy across the organization.

The HR Director will play a critical role in shaping workplace culture, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and guiding leadership through complex HR matters. This individual will lead initiatives focused on employee experience, performance management, and organizational effectiveness while maintaining a high standard of integrity and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all HR functions aligned with organizational goals
• Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, managers, and employees on HR-related matters
• Lead employee relations efforts, including workplace investigations and conflict resolution
• Oversee leave of absence programs (FMLA, ADA, disability, USERRA) ensuring compliance
• Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
• Manage performance management processes, employee engagement initiatives, and talent development programs
• Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure consistency and compliance
• Partner with payroll and benefits teams to support accurate and efficient HR operations
• Lead training initiatives on HR policies, compliance, and workplace standards
• Support Workers’ Compensation and Unemployment Insurance processes as needed
• Utilize data and analytics to identify trends and drive HR strategy improvements
• Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership to support business objectives

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5–10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership responsibility
• Strong knowledge of employment laws (FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, COBRA, ERISA, etc.)
• Experience leading employee relations and workplace investigations
• Proven ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to influence decision-making at all levels of the organization

Plusses

• Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field
• HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)
• Experience in healthcare, distribution, or supply chain environments
• Background in multi-site HR operations
