Survey Technician

Houston, TX (3600) 3600 W Sam Houston Pkwy S Suite 600 Houston, TX 77042, USA As a Survey Technician at LJA Surveying, you will prepare metes and bounds descriptions for boundary surveying projects and produce surveying exhibits and mapping products. Responsibilities Gather data used for creation of topographical maps. Compile information necessary to stake projects for construction using engineering plans. Compare survey computations with applicable standards to determine adequacy of data. Collect information needed to carry out new surveys, using source maps, previous survey data, photographs, computer records and other relevant information. Prepare topographic and contour maps of land surveyed, including site features and other relevant information such as charts, drawings, and survey notes. Required Education / Certifications Surveyor‑in‑Training certification by Texas Board of Land Surveying. Required Qualifications 5+ years of survey experience. CADD experience (required) and TxDOT experience (plus). Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Strong oral and written communication skills.
