Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to oversee all accounting and financial operations for a growing organization. This role will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and providing strategic financial insights to leadership. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who thrives in a collaborative, onsite environment and enjoys partnering with operational teams to drive business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and cash management.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis activities.
- Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Mentor, develop, and manage accounting staff while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Partner with executive leadership to evaluate business initiatives, operational efficiencies, and growth opportunities.
- Support process improvement initiatives and system enhancements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA designation strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
- Experience managing month-end close and audit processes.
- Advanced proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive process improvements.

Work Environment: This is a fully onsite position requiring attendance in the office five days per week. Candidates must be comfortable working in a collaborative, in-person environment and partnering closely with leadership and operational teams.
