About the Role

The Company is in search of a VP, Travel Insurance Counsel to take on a pivotal role as the primary legal advisor for its travel insurance and accident/health business. The successful candidate will be a seasoned attorney with a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, active bar membership, and a background in travel insurance exposure within the P&C insurance sector. This position is highly business-facing, requiring the individual to partner with underwriting, product, compliance, operations, and executive leadership to provide practical legal and regulatory advice across a specialized insurance portfolio. Key responsibilities for the VP, Travel Insurance Counsel include serving as the lead legal advisor to the travel insurance business, advising on insurance regulatory, compliance, and Department of Insurance matters, and providing strategic legal guidance on business initiatives. The role also involves reviewing and supporting travel insurance products throughout their lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the legal, claims, regulatory, or risk aspects of travel insurance and be adept at working closely with the business to ensure that legal and regulatory requirements are met.
