Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
The ER RN will provide urgent and specialized nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department, managing a diverse range of acute conditions in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong clinical skills, quick decision-making, and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and prioritize patient conditions upon arrival, ensuring prompt treatment.
• Administer emergency medications and treatments, including IV vasopressors and procedural sedation.
• Manage and interpret dysrhythmias, providing appropriate interventions.
• Perform phlebotomy and start IVs efficiently to support patient care.
• Monitor patients with multisystem organ failure, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and ensure compliance with safety and isolation protocols.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid NY state RN license in hand prior to submission.
• Possess a minimum of 1 year of recent ER nursing experience, including adult and pediatric care.
• Be BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certified.
• Demonstrate proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation, IV management, and blood product administration.
• Be capable of float requirements and perform phlebotomy and IV placement.
• Be able to complete required modules, with up to 5 hours billable pre-start.
