Skilled Nursing - Licensed Vocational NurseLVN/LPN Location: Lake Isabella, California Schedule: 8:00AM - 5:00PM x 5 Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension Pay Rate: $36 - $39/hrAstrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a LVN/LPN for a temporary assignment in Lake Isabella, California. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.Responsibilities for a LVN/LPN:• Assess residents' conditions and nursing needs, and prescribe appropriate nursing action • Adequately assess and reassess pain, utilize appropriate pain management techniques, and educate residents and families regarding pain management • Document changes in residents' conditions and nursing care on progress notes and care plans • Perform waived testing (point-of-care testing) per Clinical Laboratory and resident care unit policies and procedures • Interpret results of waived tests and take appropriate action on results • Administer medications following the eight (8) medication rights to reduce the potential for medication errors • Meet current documentation standards and policies • Notify physician of changes in resident's condition and follow through until appropriate action is taken • Note and conduct physician orders in a timely manner • Provide thorough reports to oncoming shift by participating in walking rounds and documenting appropriately for upcoming needs • Follow through on information given during shift report regarding resident or family concerns • Implement plan of care based on assessments and goals established by the interdisciplinary care team • Treat residents and their families with respect and dignity, addressing psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs • Supervise other members of the healthcare team as needed to accomplish the established plan of care • Demonstrate competence in technical and manual skills according to scope of practice for LVNs • Function as a resident advocate by protecting residents' rights • Interact with residents, families, co-workers, managers, and other departmental personnel in a kind, knowledgeable, and friendly manner • Consistently involve residents and families in planning for care, treatment, teaching needs, and discharge plans • Function as a leader for CNAs and delegate in a manner that contributes to the excellence of the nursing unit • Participate in orientation of new personnel and assist in performance evaluations when needed • Follow proper infection control procedures and supervise supportive staff in infection control procedures • Demonstrate the ability to remain calm in emergencies and/or stressful situations • Maintain current BLS certification • Utilize Electronic Health Record system for documentation • Must have Skilled Nursing experience (Sub-Acute experience will not be accepted)Benefits for a LVN/LPN:Weekly pay every FridayMedical/Dental/Vision/Life/Pet Insurance401K Retirement Plan (matching)Full-service Credentialing and Corporate Travel TeamReferral Bonus up to $1,500
