Our commercial products support researchers, engineers, government laboratories, and industry customers working at the leading edge of atomic, molecular, and optical physics, quantum sensing, precision timing, and neutral atom quantum technologies. 

We are seeking a Sales Manager to help expand adoption of Infleqtion’s commercial product portfolio, including Quantum Cores and related enabling technologies. This role is ideal for someone with a strong physics background who is excited to combine technical depth with business development, sales execution, customer engagement, and operational ownership. 

Position Summary 

The Sales Manager, Commercial Quantum Products will be responsible for helping identify, qualify, develop, and close sales opportunities for Infleqtion’s commercial quantum hardware products. This person will work closely with Business Development, Product, Engineering, Production, Contracts, and Finance teams to support the full customer journey, from early technical discussions through quoting, supplier registration, order execution, and delivery. 

The ideal candidate has a degree or professional experience in physics, preferably atomic, molecular, and optical physics, cold atom systems, quantum optics, photonics, or a closely related field. They should also demonstrate either prior business, sales, or customer-facing experience, or clear evidence of a strong interest in business development, technical sales, and commercial strategy. 

This is a highly cross-functional role requiring technical fluency, customer orientation, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage both commercial and operational processes. 

Key Responsibilities 

Sales and Customer Engagement 

• Support sales of Infleqtion’s commercial quantum products, including Quantum Cores and related systems, components, and custom offerings. 

• Identify and qualify prospective customers across academic, government, national laboratory, and commercial markets. 

• Engage with researchers, technical buyers, program managers, procurement teams, and business stakeholders to understand customer needs and match them to Infleqtion solutions. 

• Communicate complex physics and product concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. 

• Prepare and deliver product presentations, technical overviews, quotations, and proposal content. 

• Track opportunities, customer interactions, and pipeline status in company CRM and business systems. 

• Support negotiations, purchase order review, and handoff from opportunity capture to order execution. 

Technical and Product Expertise 

• Develop a strong working understanding of Infleqtion’s commercial product portfolio, including how Quantum Cores and related products enable AMO physics, cold atom experimentation, quantum sensing, timing, and computing applications. 

• Translate customer technical requirements into clear internal inputs for Product, Engineering, and Production teams. 

• Serve as a technically credible interface between customers and Infleqtion’s internal subject matter experts. 

• Help identify product-market fit, recurring customer needs, and opportunities for product improvement or new offerings. 

Business Operations and Process Development 

• Lead or support customer supplier registration processes, including portal setup, documentation submission, compliance forms, and vendor qualification requirements. 

• Help define, document, and improve business processes for quoting, order intake, customer communication, production handoff, and delivery tracking. 

• Coordinate with Contracts, Finance, Export Control, Quality, and Operations teams to support smooth commercial transactions. 

• Develop reusable templates, checklists, and workflows that improve speed, consistency, and accuracy across the sales process. 

Project Management and Order Execution 

• Project manage custom commercial orders from purchase order acceptance through production, delivery, and customer closeout. 

• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Customer Success teams to track milestones, risks, dependencies, and customer commitments. 

• Provide clear status updates to internal stakeholders and customers. 

• Help resolve issues related to scope, schedule, documentation, configuration, and delivery requirements. 

• Ensure customer expectations are clearly captured, communicated, and managed throughout the order lifecycle. 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in physics, applied physics, engineering physics, optics, photonics, or a closely related technical field. 

• Strong understanding of physics concepts, with the ability and desire to learn advanced quantum and AMO physics topics. 

• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively. 

• Evidence of business, sales, entrepreneurship, customer engagement, program management, or commercial interest. 

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple opportunities, tasks, and stakeholders simultaneously. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

• Ability to work cross-functionally with technical, commercial, operational, and administrative teams. 

• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with documentation, customer portals, procurement systems, and internal business processes. 

• Interest in helping commercialize advanced quantum technologies. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Advanced degree in physics, AMO physics, quantum optics, photonics, atomic physics, or a related field. 

• Experience with cold atom systems, lasers, vacuum systems, optical tables, timing systems, quantum sensors, or quantum computing hardware. 

• Prior experience in technical sales, business development, product management, applications engineering, program management, or customer-facing technical support. 

• Experience selling or supporting scientific instruments, laboratory equipment, photonics products, quantum technology, or other highly technical hardware. 

• Familiarity with university, government, national laboratory, or commercial R&D procurement processes. 

• Experience with CRM systems, ERP systems, customer supplier portals, or structured sales operations. 

• Experience managing custom hardware orders or coordinating technical production projects. 

• Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where products, processes, and markets are evolving.
