Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center requiring an active Washington state license in hand.

Details

• Short term acute care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, teaching hospital setting
• RRT unit with 1:11 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Every other weekend required
• Block schedule required
• Floating between units required
• No on-call required
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Washington state license required in hand at time of submission (license required if applicable)
• Compact license must be in hand at submission
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Experience with medication delivery systems including nebulizers, MDIs, and aerosol setups
• Experience with airway management including intubation/extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
• Experience interpreting Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs) and administering oxygen therapy
• Trauma and rapid response experience preferred
• Experience in Emergency Department and Pediatric settings preferred
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for submission

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care including medication administration, ventilator management, and airway management for a diverse patient population
• May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted facility
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
• Scrub color for RRT staff can be any color
• No parking fee at this facility
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel pay rate; local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Former employees of this health system may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they live outside the 50-mile radius
