Ability to work some overtime, as needed, to support production.Position ObjectiveThe Plumber, part of the Maintenance Department, is responsible for general troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of brewery equipment such as pipes, pumps, tanks, etc.Key ResponsibilitiesPipefitter to provide multi-discipline capability to repair, maintain, install and make improvements on beverage processing equipment and building services (includes process piping, building service piping, pneumatics, and hydraulics)Fitting / Welding piping systems including process piping, stainless sanitary tube (TIG), carbon steel.Fitting and assembly of PVC, Copper, DWV ping systemsAbility to achieve a high level of process expertise to effectively troubleshoot and repair equipment, including root cause analysis.Includes maintenance of steam traps, specialized valves, filtration systems, and other specialized equipment.Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs.Maintain a clean work area and always operate in a safe manner.Good communication skills – daily communications with leaders, maintenance planner, technical staff, engineering and operations as needed.Acts as a team player – willing to be flexible, often work in other areas and with other trades as needed to support maintenance team.Maintains an excellent safety record – places safety and environment as top priority in all workDemonstrate effective analytical troubleshooting skillsReads pipe and machine drawingsUnderstands piping codes for hazardous environments (flammable liquids)Follows Lock Out/Tag Out proceduresQualificationsGraduate of apprentice program or equivalent demonstrated skill levelHigh School diploma or equivalentWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office and maintenance software tools.Some experience or expertise in mechanical, HVAC equipment and process controls is preferred.Welding certification is a plus.Additional RequirementsFlexibility to change based on prioritiesDependable, maintains good attendanceAbility to work effectively with minimal supervisionPhysical Requirements & Environmental ConditionsSignificant walking, climbing stairs or other means of mobility.Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds.Ability to work off of ladders or scaffolding, and in awkward positionsIndoor and outdoor work assignmentsWears protective clothing and/or Personal Protective Equipment required by the work environment or government regulations.PerksGenerous Benefits with options to fit your lifeBlue4U DiscountsRetirement Options with employer contributions10 paid holidays per yearGainsharing BonusesUnion SupportGenesee Brew House discountsCulture of pride and community involvementAnd of course, beer!Pay Rate: $32.76 – 39.27/hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
