SUMMARY
Assist the General Manager in leading the store team to enhance the customer experience through optimized training, visual presentation, and operational programs. Ensure the consistent execution of company initiative & metrics that drive hospitality and operational excellence.POSITION DETAILS
Position Title: Assistant Store Manager Reports To: Store Manager / General Manager Department: Retail Operations Position Purpose: To support the Store Manager in maintaining the highest level of customer experience, overseeing training programs, and ensuring efficient operational procedures in the store.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Management: Lead and motivate a team to implement and enhance customer experience strategies. Ensure team members are informed, engaged, and executing their roles effectively. Training: Develop and oversee training modules and programs that equip staff with the knowledge and skills to excel in their roles and provide excellent customer service. Customer Experience: Drive the team to deliver exceptional customer service. Handle customer complaints and issues, ensuring a swift resolution that prioritizes customer satisfaction. Visual and Operational Programs: Collaborate with visual merchandisers to ensure the store is presented in a manner that is consistent with brand standards and enticing to customers. Monitor operational procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance. Store Operations: Ensure the store runs smoothly on a daily basis, which may include overseeing cash handling, inventory management (METRC), and other operational processes including performance management. Initiative Execution: Collaborate with the General Manager and other leadership to execute store-specific and company-wide initiatives. Compliance and Policy Enforcement: Ensure all activities and operations adhere to company policies, standards, and local regulations. Sales and Performance Metrics: Monitor store and staff performance metrics. Implement strategies to achieve sales targets and other KPIs. Team Development: Identify the strengths and weaknesses of team members, provide feedback, coaching, and opportunities for professional growth.QUALIFICATIONS
Proven experience in a retail management role, preferably at an assistant manager level or above, within the cannabis industry. Strong leadership and team management skills. Ability to develop and execute training programs. Familiarity with visual merchandising, store operational procedures, compliance standards, and experience with METRC. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong problem‑solving skills and a customer‑focused attitude. Ability to handle stressful situations and multitask in a fast‑paced environment.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects occasionally, and perform other physical tasks typical in a retail setting.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
One to two years related retail experience at supervisor level or above, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of opening and closing procedures. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college is preferred. Must comply with state regulations and guidelines. Solid computer skills to include MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, internet navigation. POS experience a plus.WORK ENVIRONMENT
Moderate noise level similar to a typical busy retail environment. Varied hours and/or days, including nights, days, holidays, or weekends. Constant patient and co‑worker interactions.DISCLAIMER
