Manufacturing Engineer 3

Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer 3 . The work will be done onsite in Pontiac, IL . This is a long-term 12-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $42/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).

Job Summary

Cullerton Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing process improvement, production validation, and operational excellence initiatives within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role will focus on analyzing production processes, improving manufacturing efficiency, validating new processes, and supporting quality and operations teams. The engineer will spend time both on the shop floor and in an office setting, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, validating prototypes, and implementing process improvements. This position offers hands-on exposure to manufacturing operations, quality systems, and continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing processes, production methods, and operational workflows to improve efficiency and productivity.

• Study time, motion, methods, and production rates to establish standards and optimize manufacturing performance.

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to support manufacturing activities.

• Support quality and operations teams by validating new processes, engineering changes, and production improvements.

• Troubleshoot manufacturing process issues on the shop floor and implement corrective actions.

• Develop reports, charts, diagrams, and workflow documentation related to production operations and process performance.

• Assist with prototype validation, process change notifications (PCNs), and manufacturing process analysis.

• Review production records, processing sheets, and specifications to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.

• 5–7 years of manufacturing engineering experience, internships considered toward total experience.

• Experience working in manufacturing, machining, or industrial production environments.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and engineering reports.

• Experience with engineering software and computer applications, including CAD systems.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Ability to create sketches, engineering drawings, and perform engineering calculations.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting manufacturing process validation and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Experience working with quality, production, and operations teams in a manufacturing environment.

• Knowledge of prototype validation, process changes, workflow analysis, and production optimization.

• Familiarity with machining operations, equipment utilization analysis, and manufacturing troubleshooting.

• Experience developing reports, process documentation, and manufacturing performance metrics.

• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related continuous improvement experience is a plus.
