Position Detail

Frye Regional Medical Center, 53 miles from Charlotte, NC, is seeking a BE/BC Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join a hospital‑employed practice with two existing CV Surgeons.

• The Frye Heart Center is an integrated Cardiology service line that consists of Interventional, Structural Heart, EP and Cardiologists
• Experience preferred but not required
• Call is 1:3
• Full scope of adult cardiothoracic and cardiovascular procedures
• Preferred Fellowship in transcatheter valve and complex aortic surgery
• Duke Heart Network affiliate; the first in western North Carolina. Backed by the resources of the Duke Heart Center, FRMC has access to the most current Duke training and staff education, evidence‑based guidelines and practices when it comes to heart and heart‑related issues
• Position is available to both Cardiothoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons, in the essence of true program growth

Cardiovascular Procedures

• Advanced techniques in coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)
  • Endoscopic vein harvest
  • Multi‑arterial grafting
• Arrhythmia surgery
• Endovascular surgery
• Thoracic aortic surgery
  • Aortic aneurysm repair
  • Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR)
  • Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
• Valvular repair / replacement

General Thoracic Procedures

• Advanced diagnostics and treatment of benign lung conditions and lung cancer
  • Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS)
  • Lobectomy
  • Mediastinoscopy
  • Navigational bronchoscopy
  • Wedge resections
• Management of pericardial fluid collections
• Management of pneumothorax and pleural fluid collections
• Minimally invasive video assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS)
• Surgical treatment for complications of emphysema
• Surgical treatment of diseases of the mediastinum
• Thoracic trauma management

Open Heart and Minimally Invasive Valvular Procedures

• Aortic valve replacement
