Outside Machinist (Grades 4 - 6)

Outside Machinist (Grades 4 – 6) General Dynamics – Bath Iron Works Pay range: $28.39‑$29.48 per hour. Responsibilities Install ship equipment, including general machinery, main machinery, weapons systems, and remote operating gear. Lay out, tack, grind, drill, ream, spot face, bolt, torque, and test components. Perform layout work and use measuring tools including tape measure, interior and exterior micrometers, Vernier or dial calipers. Qualifications Preferred: High School Diploma or GED. Required: Experience using basic shop tools, tacking, hand tools, torqueing, and portable drilling tools. Required: Trade or technical school in a mechanical field, or more than 1 year of experience in a mechanical trade. Required: Ability to read blueprints in detail. Required: Ability to perform layout, read measuring tools, use tape measure, micrometers, Vernier or dial calipers and perform simple math calculations. Required: Must meet the requirements of the O04 physical task analysis.
