Public Housing Property Manager
Salary: $72,000 - $76,000 annually + Retention Bonus Eligibility
Are you an experienced Property Manager with a passion for resident services, compliance, and community operations? We are seeking a dedicated Public Housing Property Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of a public housing portfolio while ensuring exceptional resident experiences, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
This is an excellent opportunity for a housing professional who enjoys balancing resident relations, property operations, compliance management, and collaboration with maintenance and administrative teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the daily operations of assigned residential communities.
Manage resident admissions, move-ins, orientations, and lease execution.
Conduct annual and interim recertifications while ensuring compliance with applicable housing regulations and program requirements.
Maintain accurate resident files, records, and databases while safeguarding confidential information.
Monitor rent collections, rent rolls, and occupancy performance.
Review and resolve discrepancies related to income verification and compliance documentation.
Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure timely unit turnovers, inspections, and resolution of property concerns.
Conduct move-in, move-out, and annual inspections.
Assist with resident relations, lease enforcement, grievances, and housing compliance matters.
Work closely with community partners and social service agencies to connect residents with available resources.
Monitor property conditions through regular site walks and collaborate with maintenance staff to address issues promptly.
Support occupancy goals by reviewing applications and processing qualified applicants.
Minimum of 2 years of property management experience required.
Public housing, affordable housing, or housing authority experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of HUD regulations, recertifications, compliance, and resident file management preferred.
Strong understanding of occupancy management, resident relations, and property operations.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization.
Excellent communication, customer service, and conflict resolution skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Experience with housing management and compliance software is a plus.
The ideal candidate is a proactive and detail-oriented professional who can effectively balance compliance requirements, resident needs, and operational objectives. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, sound judgment, excellent customer service, and the ability to collaborate across departments.
